Festergut is boss of the Plagueworks. Killing him and Rotface is required to access Professor Putricide.
Battle
Festergut is a DPS check. In 10 man mode it requires 5280DPS from every raid DPS, depending on tanks DPS.
When you first pull Festergut, the room will be filled with gas that does moderate damage to raid. At this point tanks should have one dedicated healer healing them. As the fight goes along Festergut will inhale the gas in the room three times before exhaling it. With each inhale, the damage done by the gas will be less and less while Festergut does 30% more damage to tanks with each inhale. That why during 1st and 2nd inhale healers should turn their focus totally on tanks since at this point Festergut will be doing 30% and 60% more damage before finally topping it at 90%.
After 3rd inhale and a small period of time Festergut will exhale all the gas he has inhaled. This will do 40k-50k damage to raid but it can be migitated by a debuff you get during fight. After this it will be repeat of what you had just done until boss is dead.
As said earlier, in order to survive exhale you must have a debuff. This debuff is given by persons who get a Spore on their heads during the fight. This will happen 3 times and each time 2 players will have spore. At this point players have to get close to persons with spore to get the debuff before spreading out again and continuing as they would normally. Each application of this debuff reduces shadow damage taken by 25% so in total it will reduce it 75% which will make exhale do much less damage. Spored persons should be split so that one goes to melee group and one goes to ranged group.
Tanking
Tanks will get a debuff during the fight which increases their damage by 10% per each application of this debuff. This can stack as high as 9 stacks. Any higher and the tank will explode. That is why the other tank has to taunt it at 8 stacks or so to avoid wipe because of the explosion.
The tanks should have macro informing healers when he is taunting due to the immense damage Festergut will be doing after inhales.
Healing
Healers should take note that each inhale increases boss damage by 30% so before exhale boss will be doing 90% more damage than at the beginning of fight. It is important that after 2nd inhale pretty much all healers heal tanks when the gas in the room has lowered so much that it is doing minimal damage to raid.
Also do note that exhale will do massive raid damage. If everyone has 3 stacks of inoculation / debuff it will do 75% less damage but if all don't have that much be ready to heal that person more.
DPS
Melee: DPS boss, get debuff from spored person. Be ready to run to ranged group if only melee get debuff.
Ranged: Spread out at least 10 yards to prevent Vile Gas from incapacitating everyone. Run to the designated person when spores appear on raid to get debuff and then spread out again.
Required:
2 Tanks
3 Healers
3 Ranged minimum to avoid Vile Gas to tanks / melee.
Rest melee or ranged.
